Inamori mentioned how important it is for your success to purify your motivation. The phrases quoted with “” below are what Inamori shared with Seiwajuku members.

“In ancient Indian Sanskrit, a saint said, “The success of great heroes has been attributed to how pure their hearts and minds are. They achieved their goals simply due to their purified minds, not to what they actually did. In other words, ” How much altruism mindset they have developed and tendered in their internal minds. Also, this sense can be interpreted as what is the right action to conduct as a human being. As long as you follow this discipline, your objective is realized without any doubts and your life would be completely enlightened and fulfilled.”

Inamori is also mentioned as follows.
“ How pure is your heart and mind? This is an essential question that you keep asking yourself if you pursue success. In business administration, success will never come from superior technology, management methods, nor management plans. That depends on the mindsets of top leaders. In the life formula, the mindset can be changed to purified, justifiable, and altruistic motivation.”

Inamori continued.
“This approach allows you to fundamentally understand what I mentioned earlier: motivated with justifiable and altruistic desire. Justifiable and altruistic can be interpreted as ‘purified’. You must check your actions: what drives them. Your desire should come from the mind towards others.”

Mr. Inamori truly lived his life with this “pure heart and mind.”

He lived with an altruistic mindset.
I think he is the greatest top leader and no one else in the world could be like him.
I am proud of myself as I am Japanese as is Inamori.

Speaking of pride as a Japanese person, I would like to pay attention to Dr. Tetsu Nakamura. He went to Afghanistan as a doctor.( http://www.peshawar-pms.com/eg/index2.html )
He realized that clean water is necessary to save people, so he started digging wells in the deserts.
Wells alone are not enough, so he started constructing irrigation canals there as well.
I believe that he is someone who has always acted with the purified motivation: save people”.
Under the guidance of Dr. Nakamura, a large-scale irrigation system was finally completed in the vast desert. This reminded me of the proverb: “Ultimate diligence and sincerity are impressive enough to move God to give us unexpected help.”

I must admit that I am a weak person.
However, I would like to keep purifying my heart and soul to be such a great Japanese leader.
I would like to deliver all that I can do for others, as those guys have done.
