“ To be able to use this subconscious mind on a daily basis, you must be strongly and persistently aware of it and make it ingrained in your mind. In other words, you must do it over and over again until it penetrates your subconscious. In business, you also can achieve great results by using your subconscious mind.
For example, you might think about various approaches every day about how to make your company better. When that thought penetrates into your subconscious mind, you may eventually get inspired and reach an excellent idea.
The inventor Thomas Edison also said that genius is with 1% inspiration and 99% hard work. This is because you keep thinking hard and repeating experiments every day, so your desire penetrates your subconscious mind and this subconscious suddenly helps you to reach a great idea. “
Inamori talks about the following three benefits in using subconscious minds.

3. Connect with the Universe
Let me elaborate one by one.
1. Calling for inspiration
” Ever since I was young, I have sometimes suddenly woken up in the middle of the night and come up with some brilliant idea. Before falling asleep again, I wrote down what had come to mind on a notepad by my pillow, and in the morning, at work, I immediately put that inspiration into action. This has happened often. “
→ It is said that when you fall asleep, and the moment you wake up in the morning, you are more likely to connect with your subconscious. Even though you are relaxed, you are well-concentrated. I also come up with various ideas and solutions to the work I am currently working on in the say 30 minutes after waking up in the morning. In addition, in the morning, I am in a bathtub with lukewarm water, and sometimes inspiration comes to me.
These kinds of functions of the subliminal mind cannot be used effectively unless you have the desire to utilize your subconscious. As Inamori says, I think it is important to keep a notepad by your pillow and create an environment to make your subconscious mind open.
2. Reaching out to the exact people whom you are looking for
“ (While thinking about a new business of Kyocera, I had the following conversation with a guy who used to be my school classmate at a reunion):
‘So, what do you do now?’
‘I’m dealing with this kind of technology and I’m involved in that kind of project….’
That’s exactly the kind of work I wanted to do as Kyocera’s new business. So I asked him to elaborate more about his work, and as I listened to, that guy says,
‘I wish I could conduct this in a specific area, but our company has never allowed me to do so…..’
So I took this opportunity and said to him,
‘Our company is still small, but if you join us, we should be able to make the best use of your technology.’
This looks like a mere coincidence, but I strongly believe that my subconscious brought this great contact. ”
→ I think great encounters are the result of a strong subconscious thought. You can eventually find the people you want and have less contact with the people you don’t want. There are success stories of entrepreneurs who become more and more successful by getting involved with successful businessmen, but I think this kind of reality happens because people strongly desire to become like those iconic heroes.
3. Connect with the Universe
” Everything in the universe is constantly evolving and developing… Everything must coexist and live together. Live yourself and let others live. “
→ This will flow through the universe. Therefore, if each of us gets along with this flow, this will come into our minds, bodies, and consciousness. So I think the messages from the universe will naturally flow into us as inspiration. This will motivate us to take concrete action, such as doing those activities for the world, or getting people with such abilities to play an active role.
When Inamori says that our subconscious mind brings great encounters, I think that it is because the will of the universe and our own consciousness are heading to one direction in harmony.
In summary, I think Inamori is saying that to have great inspiration in our work and life, to have great encounter with people we are looking for, and to create projects for them to proactively work for, in other words, to connect with the will of the universe, we must make many times more use of our subconscious mind.
