This time, Inamori* spoke about the above motto in Kyocera philosophy.

What Inamori said is quoted with “”.

“ I think it is very important to make small, gradual efforts. No matter how great something is, it can only be achieved by making small, gradual efforts. When you want to accomplish a task in your life, there is no convenient vehicle like a jet plane that can take you to your destination quickly and easily. All you can do is making and piling up small and gradual efforts. “

The opposite of above motto is “ To make money effortlessly.” Nowadays in Japan, many people have been attracted by illegal part-time jobs or with the Ponzi investment information, simply because those tools have caught potential audiences with this idea: making money easily. However, the truth of the universe and the world is nothing more than an accumulation of one step at a time, as Mr. Inamori says here. This is for the following reasons.

1. Small but continuous improvements accelerates creativity

2. It takes time and energy to learn from others

3. It goes against the will of the universe

Let me explain them one by one.

1. Small but continuous improvements accelerate creativity

” (A staff member of a sewing company) went to the company which he was indicated for some hints for the improvement. He found that although it was in a completely different industry, they were doing the sewing work in an quite unique method, which that guy of the sewing company can implement. He got an insight, ‘Oh, this may be implemented into our work as well!’, brought it to his own workplace and made improvements.

By doing this over and over again, his company was able to transform themselves from a simple contractor of sewing into a specialist with various sewing techniques as he continued to improve the skills delivered from various machines. “

→ Let me share my own experience. In our work as well as how I release our ideas via newsletters, we must think about the efficiency. Going forward, we can also use AI. I think that using such technology will further develop our capabilities.

2. It takes time and energy to learn from others

” Mr. Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of Panasonic, did not even finish elementary school and immediately started working as an apprentice. Despite of his career, he expanded his knowledge mainly through asking & listening to others come from his curiosity of “Why?”.

Matsushita had implemented hints, techniques, and skills what he had heard into his workplace and continued the innovative works. This spirit of Mr. Konosuke Matsushita made Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. into such a large company. “

→ Utilizing AI requires an enormous amount of input and repeated trial and error. Collecting and accumulating data, having AI learn them, looking at the output, and making improvements again and again, all of them take time and a huge amount of energy. That’s why you don’t see results right away. It takes time to see even the slightest results, so you need to keep this in mind and take the necessary steps.

3. It goes against the will of the universe

“ The will that flows through the universe is the desire to cherish everything, love everything, and make everything better, and it is the opposite of the egoistic desire: only improving yourself. We must have a heart that is in harmony with and in tune with the flow of love that unilaterally wants to make everything in the universe better. “

→ I don’t think it is the will of the universe that a certain creature will continue to thrive forever on the sacrifice of other lives. Also, when we look at the flow of the seasons, the day after midwinter does not immediately become midsummer, or midsummer does not suddenly become midwinter in the same day.

Gradually, the days of a day get longer and shorter. I think that the mechanism and law of the universe is to repeat these slight changes over and over again. It is in line with the will of the universe to accumulate small changes rather than jumping to the goal in one step.

In summary, to succeed, you need a mind to be creative, to collect information steadily through research and field work, together with the attitude to follow natural rules. Making money easily and in a short time is clearly against the will of the universe. It seems that there will be more scams in the world in the future, but I would like to look at phenomena from a broader perspective.
