This time, Inamori* spoke about the above motto in Kyocera philosophy.

What Inamori said is quoted with “”.

“ With no harmony in our workplace, we will not be able to create products that will please our customers. This is because products reflect the mindset of who created them. However, the selfish mindset of `I should be the first’, or ‘I am the one to be respected’, never helps us to create harmony in the workplace.

We must consider how we have been able to develop ourselves as we are today. We must realize that this is due to not only our own efforts but to the support of many people around us, including customers, business partners, colleagues, and families. It is important to keep this in our mind, always have a sense of gratitude for those around us and work together as colleagues who can trust each other. ”

Similar to “reflection”, gratitude may be something that we can easily understand but hardly conduct.

The following are tips for us to maintain the sense of gratitude.

1. Understanding the best deed of humans is gratitude.

2. Live today as if it were the last day of your life.

3. Determine to get fulfilled

Let me explain one by one.

1. Understand the best deed of humans is gratitude.

“ So what does it mean to be ‘grateful’? First of all, be humble towards others, otherwise, you can’t show your gratitude. We have managed our company even under the difficult environment because our employees have worked hard, and our customers have given us businesses.

We must be aware of who has supported us and spontaneously be humble and grateful towards them. “

→ One of the virtues that Mr. Inamori talks about is gratitude. I would like to keep expressing gratitude immediately when I feel grateful about something, even if it seems trivial.

When I feel grateful about what someone has done to me, I put my hands together in front of my chest and say, “Thank you, ****”. Even if this feeling can’t reach that person, I keep expressing my gratitude thinking about him/her.

2. Live today as if it were the last day of your life.

“ In order to work together as colleagues who can trust each other, it is important to always have a sense of gratitude towards those around you. Due to their help, you have finally achieved the status quo, so you must show your gratitude towards people: customers, business partners, co-workers and family. This is also the most important thing in our life.

I have told you how to refine our souls in the form of the `Six Devotions,’ and even among those devotions, `Be grateful for being alive’ remains as the key conduct to our fulfillment. ”

As we are alive, we feel worries, suffering, lamenting our own misfortunes, and harboring resentment and hardship. Even if things like this are so sad and our tears are dried up, it is important to live my life believing that God has given me life and there must be a reason. Additionally, it is precisely because we are alive that we can feel immeasurable joy. I would like to always have that feeling of gratitude toward my life.

3. Determine to get fulfilled

” Complaining and blaming others always makes your life worse and brings unpleasant outcomes. Gratitude is the opposite of complaining and by being grateful, life becomes wonderful.

This is because gratitude purifies your minds and your destiny itself becomes brighter and more open. A grateful heart brings you good luck. ”

→ The top question young women ask fortune tellers is, “When will I be happy?” Perhaps the woman asking the question is full of complaints. She may be looking at the world in a perverse way, thinking, “No matter what I do, I can’t be happy.” Such people need to clearly decide in their conscious mind that they must be happy. Since she decides, she can spontaneously change her mindset from “grievances” to “gratitude”.

She becomes dissatisfied when her eyes turn to what is missing, what is not given to her. However, at the same time, when she thinks instead of what she possesses or what has already been given to her, she becomes grateful and must feel fulfilled. Complaints and gratitude differ only in which side you look at the same event. It is important to change your perspective and decide to be fulfilled.

In summary, for us to feel fulfilled, we must be grateful that we live as of today, treasure our daily lives and keep expressing our gratitude towards people surrounding us.
