Jomon Era, which we had in JP around BC 14000 yrs to BC 10 C, had a lot of insights for us to develop our organization fitting to the future needs in the society.

Today, we would like to share management directions that we can bring from Jomon era to our current organizations.

 

The organizational directions are as follows;

1 Open

2 Flat

3 Simple

4 Small

 

1 Open

 

The organization is open to internally and externally.

Jyomon era, from the analysis of excavated ruins, the community and people’s living units are open to other communities. At the same time, among a community, residents or functional facilities are open to people.

 

2 Flat

The organization has neither superiority nor inferiority. Flatness implies the gender equality, a few distinct hierarchical structure in the community, no slavery, and almost no evidence of a large scale of the power dominance.

 

3 Simple

 

Simplicity means conciseness and transparency. The Jomon type organization is function oriented and has to be maintained as simple as possible. Such simplicity secures its transparency in the sense that the entity is visible and understandable for each member.

 

4 Small

 

Small means the unit size and agility. Compared with a modern organization Jomon style entity was small but agile to adopt themselves to the environmental transition.

On the other hand , the management tips that we can share from the Jomondo are as follows;

3 AI, robots, integration to digital contents
