Mr. Inamori, during his workshop, shared his idea.

“Think about the character “making profit”, which is the composition of two parts, “follow” plus “people”, which means the follower. Therefore, to make your business profitable, you should make your followers. Followers could be your loyal customers and your loyal employees.”

 

Therefore, this time, I would like to make a list of how to develop your loyal customer base and how to create your loyal staff team.

The followings are tips to develop loyal customer

1 giving appropriate supports for customers’ problems

2 getting respects from customers

3 tendering what client loves and cares

4 taking always positively the feedbacks from customers

 

Let me explain one by one.

 

1 giving appropriate supports for customers’ problems

 

Two points to be focused for us to appropriately perceive customers’ concerns or anxieties and provide supports.

1-1giving

Always release your positive intentions to your customers. No matter what reaction you have from them, you just simply keep releasing positive energy to your customer. In the world, there are two potential categories, “taker” and “giver”. Even though you can expect little reward to your giving, forget about what you lose, just simply keep giving to others. This is the top tip for you to develop your loyal customers.

1-2 staying away from your own egoism

If you pursue your own profit, your benefit only, you would spontaneously get less sensitive to customers’ desire. For you to get rid of your egoism, under the psychological approach, you should be aware of your hidden egoism and explicitly admit your egoistic desires.

 

2 getting respects from customers

 

Work hard, strive yourself. How hard should we work? Until everybody can recognize you as a hard worker. Inamori said, strive yourself much harder than anyone else. I personally believe that this is the fundamental resources of assets in Japan, diligence, honesty, and dedication.

 

3 tendering what client loves and cares

 

For instance, children, parents, relatives, partners of clients, we have to care about those people whom your customers/ clients love. Mr. Inamori organized a ballet concert in his home town by inviting children and their parents. Parents are very happy because their children had a good exposure to the “real” arts. Children are very exited to have a good time with their parents. Both parents and children would have a good impression towards Kyocera, for which Mr. Inamori works as a chairman. Inamori never expected such effect but the result follows.

 

4 taking always positively the feedbacks from customers

Customers are always right, reasonable, rational, and sensible. With this kind of mindset, we have to humbly listen to our customers. Upon having their feedback, we have to improve our business process and quality of our goods and services. By keeping such attitude, so-called PDCA cycle, we have been improving our outputs.
