How serious you are about M&A

I met a young guy from Japan M&A center to pursue the opportunities of excellent deals. One of the strengths of their business model is mandate from the seller. They have been exclusively got the sales right from serious buyers. So far they are pioneer and dominating in this M&A market in Japan.

One of the difference from other deal procedure is buyer’s paying the meeting arrangement fee to this company, when both parties get into the intimate discussion after the initial DD.

“We have got mandate from the sellers, thus we should find very serious and decent buyers for them. We are not controlling negotiation process parallelly for several buyers to protect sellers’ interest. This is fundamentally creating our trust and screening who we should talk in terms of deal. ”

I fully understand their idea and at the same time, in other countries, there are many fake agents who squeeze the fee and cheat buyers. However, here is Japan and I think this agent seems to be very trustworthy. My friend, whom I discussed, and his colleagues are very nice persons, and working hard everyday. My friend of this center always emails me late at night. During daytime, according to him, most of agents are travelling to meet clients companies, then come back to the office, conduct another workload. I admire them as they are so nice and look happy even though working hard.
