Three hurdles to overcome for Japanese leaders Part I super left wing education and media

This time, I would like to spend time to share with readers my views on Japanese political and social system: how come this looks so inefficient? After the Tohoku Earthquake, the Japanese government regime changed from Democratic Party to Liberal Democratic Party-LDP-. At that time, I worked for a German bank. When the news was released, I was asked by an analyst at the head office to write something about Japanese politics.

As the foreign media say: Japanese politics looks like a carousel and commented that I think this view looks somehow right. By the way, in Japan, we have a famous gender transferred celebrity, Maki Carousel, who has been the pioneer of gay talents in 60’s. Audrey Tang, the Digital Ministry of Taiwan, remined me of this Carousel.

At that time, ultimately, I concluded that the lack of talented politicians had been our key issue. In Japan, no matter who becomes the Prime Minister, the problems remain the same, and the parties do not differ much one from the other in developing and implementing policies, leaving the fundamental structure unchanged … I wrote like that .

Over the past ten years, I have been analyzed further and taken new views on that fundamental structure. I have finally concluded: three tough hurdles overwhelming us and even the most capable leader has not been able to demonstrate powerful policies for Japan’s long-term prosperity. I would like to spend some time to explain those three hurdles.

Those three hurdles are 1 Jewish/ American based global financial power, 2 Japanese government officers, 3 Super left-wing media and educational system

I would like to start with number three “Super left-wing media and educational system”

Generally speaking, when Japanese people hear the word “extreme left”, they might think, “What are you talking about? Are you an enthusiastic Patriot? ” They naturally respond me like that. Basically, fundamental idea of majority of Japanese has always been Left. This trend has not changed since the end of the World War. I personally admit that from my childhood up to my late thirties, I had this kind of mindset. This means unnecessary self-punishing views.

Let me tell you with my own example.

While working for a non-Japanese financial institution, there was a board election for an international real estate professional association. I wanted to submit my application and asked my supervisor to review that form. He is Dutch guy and said:

“It’s OK, but there is one thing I feel to be revised. Japan is still lagging behind without actively adopting other countries’ systems, ….Why do you accuse your own county? Why do you blame your country? If I were a committee member, I wouldn’t choose who would accuse his/her own country…”

I have know him for past 15 years. He is smart, gentle and impartial person with a neutral view. I realized at that time, this is the mainstream in the world. Whether taxes are high, politics is corrupt, or complaints, it’s no surprise that people support their own country. It has nothing to do with the idea of enthusiastic patriot. My husband, he is Brazilian, even though he complains all the time with corruption in Brazil, he has always been proud of his origin, being Brazilian. On the other hand, quite a few Japanese, generally speaking, have such strong sense that we should be proud of being Japanese. Surprisingly, this is the nationwide phenomena.

I did my MBA abroad. From that time, I have learned overseas culture and mindset, such as European and Americans, as much as possible. Eventually, I realized that I don’t have to either criticize Japan or get intimidated as being Japanese. However, majority of Japanese are not like that. Why? Simply because the educational system. Let me elaborate more on the background.

Probably, for the United States, the Japanese and the Japanese country have never been properly understood. Their research on Japan has always been very advanced, but still I feel it somehow hard thoroughly understand Japanese people.

Psychologically, people get worried about things they do not understand. This anxiety turns into fear. Since Americans had such fear, they had taken extreme policies to control Japanese system just after the World War II. Even Japan, which was so thoroughly destroyed in World War II that it could not be recovered, was a fear to the United States. Therefore, I think that the idea of getting rid of Japanese patriotism driven by the military, had been utmost target at that time. US encouraged a lot for communism ideology to be penetrated into Japan.

As a result, communism mentality had spread in Japan. Japanese people still had the pain, sadness, and irrational anger towards the war, so I think the younger Japanese at that time accepted this idea unconditionally. I think this was the starting point for Japanese media and education to move to the extreme left wing.

Since Japan always has such a trend, the neighboring communist countries (China, Korea, Russia, etc.) are lucky and have pouring fuels to activate this trend. Especially communication industry such as the media, and education field were all influenced by those super- left bodies. Even after seventy five years have past from the War, education and media have remained the same tones and stuck with their regimes. Some people say that Japanese media has been controlled by other neighbor countries. I feel that we have somehow been influenced by those powers however, those countries are not the principle force to drive this trend.

It doesn’t mean that we are all controlled by pressure from outside Japan. I think they are merely following this trend to adjust the direction of the people’s mindset and injecting oxygen into the flow to make the flame active.

One of the notorious features of Americans is “extreme”, they do everything too much. I think this feature worked upon their strategy on Japan. They encouraged this communize too much and eventually created unfavorable element in the county where they want to bring full control.

This mindset has become the principle part of Japanese mentality and it is hard to changed immediately.
