Inamori, under the Chapter of “Elevate your character”, the first part of Kyocera philosophy, stresses that leaders should maintain purifying our souls, minds and spirits. This time, I would like to share with you why this is so important and how Inamori released this message.
Inamori said as follows.
For the past few months, I have been wondering what the purpose and meaning of life is to be born and live in this world as a human being. After thinking, I came to the conclusion that “refining our souls and minds” is the meaning of life.
“Elevate the level and position of your mindset”,
“Make your heart worthy”,
“Purify your mind”,
“Refine your souls and minds”,
“Creating a beautiful heart”
There are many expressions, but the purpose of life is to make efforts towards such goals. I realized that what makes life meaningful is to refine and purify our minds, souls and spirits. ”
Inamori also referred to the Buddhist Bible.
Mr. Inamori quotes the words of Buddha in the “Buddhist Scriptures”.
“This world is guided by the heart, dragged by the heart, and controlled by the heart.
A world full of worries appears due to your lost heart
Everything comes from our mind first, thus our minds are the Lord, and those who sincerely say something with a dirty heart will realize the dirty world in front of them.
Suffering follows that person as if a cow is carrying a car.
But if those who says something with a good heart and conduct the right practices, the fun follows that person as if a shadow follows the shape.
The one who does bad deeds should suffer from the reward of his evil
The one who does good deeds should enjoy receiving the reward of that good
When your mind becomes dirty
The road is no longer flat
You have to fall for that
Also, if your heart is pure
The road will be flat and peaceful
When our hearts become muddy, the life we walk through becomes unbearable, which will cause us to fall. On the other hand, if the mind is clean, the path of life will be flat and we will be able to live in peace.
Buddha expresses the heart and mind as above.
This also applies to the business administration.
If your mind is clean, your business will be stable. To “purify your mind” is to lead it in a good direction and to make our mind beautiful, which is also the basis for improving the quality of our lives and business results. ”
Inamori reiterated “Purifying our minds and souls”. I have been wondering what does it mean by “purifying our minds ” and how we can do that.
I feel that purifying our minds means the following two directions.
1 Believing in love prevailing in the universe
2 Never tell lies, be always integrated in your own mind
Let me explain a bit more.
1 Believing in love prevailing in the universe
I think this is how each of us sees the world and the universe. In the world, there should be not only good things but also bad things.
Our subconscious minds are unconscious.
Subconscious mind is a “premise” that you are not clearly aware of its existence in your mind but that has affected your decision mining under subconscious level. You feel like ,”that must be like that”.
You can also refer to the origin of human beings. Natural born beloved ones or we were born as sinners.
Despite of those two distinct positions, as Buddha said, it is important to take things honestly and find the love that is flowing in the universe.
Evil is rampant in the world
You have to be controlled by those in power
The weak are always oppressed
There can be no love in this world
All of these are negative thoughts and the biased views of the world.
These thoughts permeate into the human subconscious.
Then, in front of that person, the reality envisioned by the subconscious will appear.
However, actually, as Inamori reiterated, the love overflows in the universe.
This approach should be embedded into the bottom of our stomach as fundamental principles.
When our subconscious mind becomes something good, the purification of our mind will proceed. Thus, Inamori uses the expression “to purify our mind.”
2 Never tell lies, be always integrated in your own minds within your personality
In the world, lying has been seen as a daily routine.
Looking at the media and the journalism in the world, there are a lot of lies.
Sadly, I think Japanese society has a lot of lies.
I found myself to be a person who used to unconsciously tell a lot of lies.
Thus, my life wasn’t happy. I had never felt fulfilled.
Let’s think of lies from a psychological point of view.
In other words, let’s look at the interactions between lies, minds and our bodies.
Strong self-denial,
Aggression to others,
Sense of victims,
Dissatisfaction with the current situation,
I think these tendencies are related to lies.
At the fundamental cause of lie is this feeling that you cannot believe in yourself.
This causes internal disintegration within one person.
That causes mental disintegration.
In one person there are many emotional positions. One cannot forgive the other, and one denies and deceives another personality. When these interactions of our minds get escalated, the human mind becomes nontransparent and dirty. That makes our minds cloudy.
When your mind becomes cloudy, you cannot make the right decision.
Eventually, it will harm the person’s body and health.
If the top management of the company cannot make the right decisions, the business results will be poor. It could also endanger the survival of the company.
Lying is the root cause of weakening administrative platforms.
If the top’s mindset is unclear, “Ki-energy-“, “atmosphere”, “corporate culture”, and “air” of the company will get poisoned.
A growing company must be full of enterprising and proactive energies, free and laid-back spirit, and lead by a good energy stream.
Everything that determines the corporate culture and atmosphere is “Ki -energy-“, and it is the core competencies of the top management to determine that “energy”.
The heart of the top must be clean, transparent and full of energy.
Therefore, it is necessary to remove the turbidity of the top mind every day.
I think it is indispensable not to lie to yourself and to clean your mind.
I think that a pure heart fulfills the following two things.
Believing in love, being right and honest, I think those attitudes will allow us to keep our mind clean and purified.
